He would work in the same capacity on such other features as: Saints and Sinner, Slums of Beverly Hills, Cruel Intentions, and Bring It On Again. He worked as first AD on the TV series The Comeback and In Treatment, before going on to serve in the position on his seminal series The Vampire Diaries. After serving as first AD on Diaires for 27 episodes, Allowitz sieged to director. He has helmed 11 episodes of the series, including "Christmas Through Your Eyes".
